WHAT IS FAKTR?

You may not know our name, but you know who we are.

We are the rebels, the mad scientists, the pioneers that push the boundaries of the status quo.  Our founders stepped outside the boundaries of commonly accepted treatment protocols to forge a new path that began a ripple effect.

FAKTR (pronounced factor), stands for Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehabilitation—to put it simply, the FAKTR rehabilitation system says what it does: Assesses and Treats Dysfunction within the Kinetic Chain through movement.

We are FAKTR.  We were the first to incorporate movement with IASTM and we are pushing the envelope yet again in 2017…

Where will we take it next?

FAQ's - Frequently Asked Questions

What are the course pre-requisites?

We ask that you come to the course with a general understanding of the basic anatomy/physiology of the musculoskeletal system.  We also ask that you confirm that you can perform soft tissue work with instruments and some form of rehabilitative exercise as a part of your scope of practice...when in doubt, you can always ask your licensing board or certifiying body/institution.

What do I need to bring to class?

We provide all of the instruments, emollient and low-tech rehabilitation supplies for the course.  We do ask that if you have a portable treatment table, to please bring it with you.  You are also welcome to bring any soft tissue instruments you currently use, cups, activator, iJoy board, etc.

Is there a dress code?

You'll want to be sure and wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in.  During the course, you will need to be able to expose skin for demonstration, so sports bras and/or tank tops or camisoles are recommended for women.  Shorts are preferred on the second day of class due to the need to access lower extremities (knee, thigh, etc) for demonstration.

Are you required to purchase instruments?

There is no instrument purchase required to attend the course.  We are an education company first and foremost and will provide everything for the course so that you can learn the FAKTR Rehab System.  If you choose to purchase an instrument, we will have them available for sale during breaks and at the conclusion of the class (outside of instruction time), but the decision to purchase is optional.  We offer a generous course discount on our instruments for course attendees.

Will I need to take notes?

We believe in learning by doing, so the short answer is-NO.
Our courses are hands-on in nature so there isn't much opportunity for note-taking.  A copy of the PDF course notes will be provided prior to the course...you are welcome to print them and bring them with you if you choose, but note-taking can distract from the hands-on learning experience.

Are there any discounts on hotel rooms available?

There may be discounted room blocks available depending on the particular course and where it is hosted.  Anytime we host a course in a hotel, we will typically have a courtesy room block available at a discounted rate for our attendees.  These rooms are limited and only available for a short time, so it is always best to book your room as soon as you register for the course.
